Blogs Blogs, also known as web logs, are usually short pieces of writing which can come in any form--be it poetry, prose, essay, story, or whatever. You can write about nearly anything you want here as long as it's appropriate.
When you click on "Blogs" you'll see a button to create a new blog. Click this to arrive at the Blog Composer. The title is necessary for the blog to exist. It is common to add certain html code to enhance the look of the title on the writer's Profile. The category is optional; if one is not selected, it will be in category "Nothing." Moving on, you may choose to check the box to submit the current blog for review as news. All this means is that it gets sent to a blog adminisrator who reads it and decides whether it is newsworthy or not. If it's accepted, when you view your blog, it will show "Featured: Yes (AdminName)." Otherwise, it reads "Featured: No (AdminName)." Accepted blogs appear for a time in "Blogs" on the main page.

Here are some tips for getting your blog featured:
1) Medium length. Not too long, but not too short. You want to show that you spent some time on writing it, but not bore the reader to death.
2) Original. Plagiarised work is not accepted. If an outside source is used, you must give credit and cite it.
3) Good grammar/spelling. Pretty obvious really, but still important.
4) No html in title. This makes it so that readers won't have to see ugly code in the title.

And of course, the large box is for the body of the blog. Just click "Post" when you're done. It should then come to a list of your blogs. Click on the name to edit it, or the 'x' to delete it. In addition, the green/red circle indicates yes/no for being featured.
