Human immuno deficiency virus(HIV) is an infection that may result in AIDS.The virus(HIV) can be transferred from one individual to another.Sexual Intercourse is the main way by which HIV is transmitted nowadays. In other instances the virus may enter the body or blood stream through abrasions or injections. In other words, one must be exposed to another person's infected bodily fluids to get HIV.
There are white and red blood cells in our bodies.HIV attaches itself to a white blood cell, infects it and then instructs that cell to make more viruses.
Our immune system is the part of our body that fights off diseases. When HIV destroys many white blood cells the immune system is broken down and cannot fight diseases;even the common cold or influenza. This is the stage at which the diseases become life-threatening and is termed AIDS - Aquired Immuno Deficiency Syndrome.
It's not really short, but it's only the very basic information.
1. HIV can be transmitted as an STD, OR as a blood product, via: blood transfusions, OR if you're to touch the blood of someone with HIV & that blood enters your blood, through saliva, a cut, etc.
2. Immunodeffieciency is one word.
3. You don't mention, that, as a virus, it's incurable. There is no cure for any Virus. Most of our more common viruses, such as the cold & flu run it's course & go away. We take medication to aleviate symptoms, but being a virus, their is no cure.
4. Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome, better known as AIDS is the last stage of the disease. HIV LEADS to AIDS.
5. With both HIV & AIDS, Our WBCs deteriorate, when they hit a certain low-point, the Dr labels it as AIDS.
I understand that you don't want to make the blog too long with detail, but It might be detrimental with these blogs to put in SOME of the more important details.
