Maine Coon's (also known as: Coon Cat, Maine Cat, & Maine Shag): They are large. As a matter of fact, they are among the largest of domestic cat breeds. Growing to a height of: 10-16 in. (25-41 cm) & even 40 in (100 cm) when including the tail, & getting to a weight of: 15-25 Lbs (6.8-11 Kg) for males, & 10-15 Lbs (4.5-6.8 Kg) for females.
They can have any known cat colors. (Colors that indicate a hybrid, such as: Chocolate, Lavender, Siamese point, & ticked are not accepteable as a breed standard) & their eyes can be any color besides blue & odd (2 different color eyes), with the exception of the white Maine Coon's.

Health • Feline Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy Cats that are prone to FHC: Middle-aged, Older, Male are thought to be more prone to this illness then their younger female Maine Coons.
• Spinal Muscular Atrophy Cat's with SMA do have a shorter life span then their healthier playmates.
• Hip Dysplasia In a study done on cat's with this disease, 24.1 of them were MALE Maine Coon cat's.
• Polycystic Kidney Disease The effects are incurable & lead to kidney failure.
