Tenses, guys. Ain't all that hard. It isn't much to ask that you stick to either past or present.
I occasionally lurk on RPs and stuff and people are switching tenses left right and centre. One minute they're all "Walked over there" and the next they're all "Hugging a tree."
One is past tense, one is present. And you shouldn't really swap between the two in the same conversation, let alone mid-sentence.
Also I see a lot of people seeming to swap between points of view mid-sentence, which is kinda confusing. I see things like like "Flaps my arms" or "Looks at my watch" or "Hugs my tree" or whatever, and I internally cringe.
What you have to do is imagine you've got an "I" before each sentence, and then you'll see if it actually makes sense.
You wouldn't say "I flaps my hands" or "I hugs my tree" because that totally doesn't make sense grammatically.
Then again I know that grammatical sense isn't the top priority for some of you.
You would either say "He flaps his hands" or "I flap my hands," but you shouldn't really switch between the two, or else stuff gets really confusing.
Either you're playing as the character themselves in 1st person, or you're narrating the scene in 3rd person, but you can't really have it both ways.
I know it isn't really the biggest of issues, but it's kinda annoying when people can't really form a comprehensible sentence.
My grammer sucks since im dyslexic but even I have better grammer than some people on this site o.O buuut its not a problem. I don't see why you have to make a blog about it.
