WHAT I WANT YOU TO KNOW
From: AMERICAN DREAM
Everest
I see you,
Talking to your cool friends
You see me,
Wishing I could fit in
I see you walking,
You're walking to me.
You start talking
And it makes me wanna scream
I wanna tell you I love you
But I don't wanna throw my life away
I don't want people to know
Because I like it this way
I've got enough nerve
I'm gonna talk to you
My words don't make sence
You're starting to look so confused
All of my dreams,
Filled with what I don't want you to know
I want you to love me,
I want us to grow old
I wanna tell you I love you
But I don't wanna throw my life away
I don't want the world to know
Because I like it this way
I've rehearsed in my head,
a thousand times
But I can't find the right words
Because my heart is a poem that doesn't beat to a rhyme
I want you to hug me
I don't care what the world says
I want to feel your heart pounding
Without you, I'm stone-dead
I wanna tell you I love you
But I don't wanna throw my life away
I don't want the world to know
Because I like it this way
I've seen it in my dreams
You and I, together,
I pray every night
But God doesn't answer prayers from a sinner
I see us carving out a life
Making it work in the big, big city
I see us holding hands
Watching the sunset, so so pretty
I was just going to make this a poem, but I figured I'd just make it another song. I hope I can write about this situation again, but with a happy ending.
