One day, back when I was in high school, my final class of the day got out at the last second of the block. I was perturbed, because I had to run all the way across the school and a parking lot to get to my bus. This process took around 10 minutes. The buses usually left 10 minutes after school got out. I would have to rush.
So I left class, and quickly walked to my bus. I left out the front of the school, so I could walk by where the bus driver would pick me up if I just so happened to be unable to make it to the official stop.
I made it to my bus on time in the correct spot, but there was something different. All the buses were brand new, and shiny white. They looked like vamped up Transformers in bus form. I was very confused so I walked up to my bus. "Mrs. Stark, why are all the buses changed?"
"I don't know, they just gave us new keys today." I looked around in awe, and grumbled. She kept going. "You're also not on my bus anymore. You're on one of the ones up there. Look!" She pointed at some old balding man wearing a doctor coat. "There's your new bus driver." There were two women with him, and they were walking away from us. I ran up to them, and as I was about to tap him on his shoulder, they all disappeared. I was even more confused. . "What the honest..." I looked down. A large grey and white cat looked up at me in amusement. It seemed to beckon me, so I picked it up and placed it on my head. It sat calmly.
I then noticed the buses driving off. "Damn it, no! How am I going to get home without a bus ride?!" The cat whispered to me.
I quickly nodded, and started walking in the direction of my house. I didn't make much conversation with the cat, I found out that was all it could really say.
A few blocks away from the school, I stopped because I thought to call my mom. My phone, unfortunately, was dead. I was losing hope of ever making it home. "I need a charger... Or something..." I started crying. The cat suddenly said, "Walk." So I walked forth. I then hit my head on a wall. It was an invisible wall. I got angry. I tried turning and walking to the right but could not, nor could I back up. Then, I focused in on a cord that was dangling from the tree. I pulled on it and climbed up. It had made a box that was sitting on the leaves fall over. In this box were cheap, miscellaneous toys from my childhood, and a phone charger. I was ecstatic. "How did you do that?" I asked the cat.
I had to find a place to plug in my phone, and decided to do so on the railroad. There were high tech outlets on a concrete wall next to the metal. I plugged in my phone, and was instantly in a car. The cat was sitting in the seat next to me, and I was driving. It made me feel reassured. We drove down the city streets, and came across a car parked on the side of the road. Somehow, telepathically, the cat told me to "do not stop, and do not look for long." In the back seat was someone wearing a Black Plague doctor mask, and it was calmly tapping on the window with a fake hand. My vision started to turn red as I moved my gaze to the other figure in the back seat of the car. It was an adult male, his head leaning backwards, gullet split open. He was coughing, and his innards were spilling out of his chest. His neck was slit horizontally in execution style.
I veered my eyes back to the road.
