Seriously, just trust me on this. Look at your hands and wiggle your fingers. Squeeze your hand into a fist. Think about these hands.
Your hands can do amazing things. Your hands can build things. Hands have built all of the amazing buildings that are on this planet (with the help of machinery, but listen, what built the machines? And what built the machines that make the machines?) Hands have been held together in times of sadness, in times of joy, in love, and in disaster. Hands applaud others. You use your hands everyday for work and play.
Hands also tear things down. In anger, our hands can go through walls and throw things. Our hands can scare people and ruin people’s trust in us. Hands have the power to shoot guns, wield knives, and kill.
Hands are a double edged sword.
So are your words.
Your words interact with other people much more than your hands do. They have the power to help or hurt someone. Think about what you are doing with your words. Be careful with them. Use them to build others up, not to tear them down. Remember that words can make or break friendships, families, and other relationships. Use your words to bring kindness to the world. It is so difficult sometimes, but making someone feel good might make you feel good.
Very well thought out, and about an often overlooked subject.
I think it's funny when watching Cartoons that have Dogs, Cats, and other Animals, not necessarily being completely anthropomorphized (meaning they ARE acting somewhat like actual Animals, albeit in a somewhat unrealistic way), where they just have them somehow using their Paws, Claws, Wings, Fins, etc., in the same way that we use our hands, even though in reality, that would be impossible.
I also think it's interesting how because certain Primates have pretty much the same hands as us, they could (in theory) do many of the same thins as us, provided they could figure out how to do so.
(I suppose that was the idea behind Planet of the Apes, lol!)
I surpsingly look at my hands a lot, but what I really see is how ALIEN it can be like all those spiders and tentacles everyone jumps at. Like we practically have the same alienating features. Especially when you wiggle your toes. Like wow...!
