i made this as a writing example for someone, and decided it shall not go to waste
i have also changed it up a little lot, for some spice
Monx quickly came up with a strategy that might give his team the upper hand in this battle
So he raised his arm as you would to check a watch, but instead of a watch, he had a crudely built device on his wrist, a sort of walkie talkie.
He raised the flap covering the mic and pressed the action button, to give out an order, "Hey, I'm alright. Does anyone hear me? I think I was sent a few miles away. I'm alright. I'll be there soon. Meanwhile, the plan right now is for Elizabeth to get behind the ruins near Dante and the Dray Soldier. Anyone there?"
He hoped the signal would reach his teammates.
The communication devices had been quickly built by him as the team of three traveled through the canyon-- so they weren't very stable, or technologically advanced.
But, they did work, and were convenient, so the team decided to use them nontheless.
Elizabeth was within range, so she had heard the message.
She affirmed, "Monx!? Hello?? I got the signal, I'm here."
Monx was relieved she had heard, and with a broken sigh talked into the mic again.
"Elizabeth. Hey-- hi. Thank God you're alright. Relay the message to Dante, he must be too far from me, and you're closer to him. Oh, and can you ping me your location?"
"Alright. Okay," she answered, "Please be careful on your way back. There could be more soldiers. I'll be going out of range now. Goodbye."
"Good luck," Monx closed the device and picked himself up as he followed the ping towards Elizabeth.
Elizabeth had quickly understood Monx's motives-- to get behind Dante, and provide healing support.
She sped towards the ruined walls near where she last saw Dante and crouched down.
Everything was so unusually quiet that she could hear her own heart beating.
This battle was important.
If they lost, it'd be their demise.
But if they won...
They'd still have many other battles to face.
It would never end.
Elizabeth shook her head and turned around, peeking through the cracks in the crumbling wall.
She easily spotted Dante in the distance.
He looked exhausted, along with being covered in dirt, and many blood-covered cuts and scratches.
He really wasn't doing too well.
Soon Elizabeth has spotted the enemy behind Dante.
The enemy loomed over behind him and quickly pulled out an axe, then began to walk towards him.
Elizabeth tried to warn Dante through the device on her wrist, but strangely his signal wasn't on the radar.
It was as if his watch didn't exist--
Oh.
It was right there.
On the ground in front of her.
Destroyed.
Dante noticed the enemy's presence and turned around just in time to see them just inches away.
He was too shocked to move.
Instead of attempting to slice Dante in half, the soldier instead slammed the axe into him, throwing him against the wall that-- unknown to Dante --Elizabeth was hiding behind.
Dante was in shock.
He couldn't even dodge that one swing...
His entire body hurt, it felt as if everything was screaming in pain-- he couldn't breathe and his ears rung.
Then he began to cough, trying to breathe, blood splattered out, as if it was covering his throat.
He was able to breathe again.
He looked up towards the ominous figure standing where he once did, meters away.
He wanted to give up.
But no.
He had the ability to, so he had to try.
Dante got up slowly, then began to approach the enemy with a limp.
The soldier laughed and said, "Oh? You're approaching me? Haven't you had enough already?"
Dante kept walking and declared, "I can't beat the shit out of you without getting closer."
With a sudden stop, Dante took out his only weapons, two poisonous daggers, and sped around the enemy, faster than any eye could follow.
He jumped and sliced at the giant soldier's unprotected back with the small blades.
He kept running back and forth from the fog surrounding them, slicing wherever he could at the enemy.
The soldier barely stumbled, or moved, and still stood strong-- they even let out a chuckle.
"Do you really think those blades can stop me? I can smell the poison. It's not a very effective poison to a creature such as myself."
The soldier then punched Dante right in the gut as he came around again.
He was thrown far away again.
Dante knew his time was up.
He had barely touched the enemy, and now could barely even stand.
He got up on his knees.
Giving himself up to his inevitable fate.
But, Elizabeth, who had been watching the whole battle, decided this was the time to use healing magic.
She healed Dante of all his physical injuries, and luckily, the enemy hadn't noticed.
Suddenly Dante felt... Powerful-- full of energy.
Better than he had in days.
Then he began to understand what was going on.
Monx had finally arrived after all the trouble of getting back from having been sent away with a teleportation spell at the beginning of the battle by the enemy's one-use fairy.
He ran and stood besides Dante with a fighting stance, as Dante rose up to his feet.
Dante smirked and twirled his daggers, "Nice to see you back, mate. Have a nice walk?"
Monx chuckled, "Possibly. Didja have fun with your giant friend?"
"Mhm. It was great," Dante replied with a hint of sourness.
Monx shook his head, "Ready to take this jackass down?"
"As I'll ever be," was Dante's reply as he tightened his grip on the daggers.
The enemy Dray soldier laughed at the small warriors before him, "You bugs can't defeat me. I'm a soldier from one of the most powerful Giant-Dragon hybrid army."
He then took a healing potion out of his pouch and swallowed the whole thing in one gulp.
This, scared the team.
They didn't know how they could take down this beast.
But, they would try.
Together.

i dedicate this to Mie (acidAPPLE) because it's her birthday and i love her, happy birthday 33
I think I have a pretty good idea of how I plan to handle this sort of stuff in MoD now, BTW, so I really appreciate all of this, as well as that PM you sent me before. (Not to mention Copying and Pasting Chapter 3 into the Blog for me.)
