There have been some events over this past day in this Community that show the need to reiterate the policies concerning allowable speech in content.
—
As a general rule, members here are permitted to post on just about any topic that is not illegal and does not directly attack any specific individuals. This includes being permitted to make statements others may see as controversial on a number of topics.
If someone replies to your Blog or comments on your own profile, you can always delete the content — no matter what is said — as that is your personal area.
Admins will not intercede to remove any content in personal or general areas, unless it crosses the boundaries into direct attacks, illegal content, or what is deemed to be an incitement of violence or other dangerous activity. Spam and other content flooding is harassment that directly attacks multiple members and will be deleted. Pornographic imagery or text is illegal in the presence of minors and will also be deleted.
Some areas of the Community support age ratings or boosting of visibility. It is still perfectly acceptable for admins to address content as they deem fit in in these areas. For instance, a Blog on a controversial issue may receive a Teen or Mature rating. Having a Blog or a Poll declined from being featured simply means it does not add to the overall discourse of the Community, not that you are being prevented from sharing it. Members can still see such content from your profile.
Feel free to ask any questions on this in the replies, and I will do my best to clarify.
