Hello,
I am talking today about a suggestion I was longing to discuss with you.
I was hoping that maybe one day this site could get a private chat app which allows you to invite an online friend to chat. It doesn't have to be a friend your inviting, it can be anyone, maybe you could talk to someone online and explain to them why you would like to be friends.
I hope you think it is a good suggestion and perhaps help me persuade Hullbreach into him create the new app.
Sorry to bum you out, but I can think of several good reasons why this is unnecessary.
One, you can just make a group for you and your friends only and use the shoutbox.
Two, you could tell them to come to a chatroom and use the /pm command.
Three, you could message your friend back and forth.
Hope this helped. Since I answered your question, lock, please.
@Hermione x It sounds like you're unaware of the private message function in the chatrooms, the easiest way to chat privately. To enable it, type "/pm " + the name of user you wish to private message. When you do this, your chat posts are visible only to that user (and chat moderators, if necessary), as opposed to normally the whole room. To disable it, just type "/pm".
I'm against this idea for a couple of reasons. The first being that there is already a private messaging function in the chatrooms (simply type /pm followed by the name of the user you wish to pm with). The other is that what if one of the users in that private chatroom decides to post a rule breaking post? Because only friends are allowed in this private chat room, how are chatmins to do their job? The current system is fine (in my opinion, of course) and it allows chat admins to be able to see all that is going on with ease.
It's my job to help the next generation, and set a good example for them. And for that I'll gladly lay down my life.
@hermione x Sorry if we sounded rude.
Glad that you joined DSiPAint. :) Have fun, but be sure to follow the rules (which can be seen by typing /rules in the chat rooms).
