yeah....i noticed the church in the pearl game too. i also noticed that when you go into that church, there is no sound. perhaps to show respect to cristians? i dont think hidden religion in the pokemon games is a bad thing as long as they disperse the different religions among the games equally.
The "religion" in Pokemon games is, well, Pokemon itself. It's not really hidden, but rather more or less written subtly into the game by the creators. It's obvious that the legendaries are viewed as deities or gods, complete with temples, shrines, rituals, devotees, etc. There are instances of priests and such who claim to be able to communicate with dead Pokemon. And even people in the Pokemon world hint at believing in the afterlife to be reincarnation as Ghost Pokemon.
Aside from that, there are a lot of ideas in-game that go against doctrines in many religions: such as gambling in Islam and evolution (non-creationism) in Christianity. Yet, there also exist many elements of Buddhism and Japanese ancestor-worship, which are both culturally understandable.
The spiritual aspects of Pokemon are something that really shouldn't be taken seriously.
No. That church you been too. They believe in another God that created the pokemon. Its made by nintendo. What i believe is Nintendo doesn't know God. That makes me sad.
