Yesterday, a British soldier dies from a blast while on a mission to clear bombs from an alleyway in Southern Afghanistan.

He was hit on Monday in the Nahr-e Saraj district of Helmond Province, the airlifted to the military hospital in Britain's main camp. Bastion Base.

The soldier, from 11 Explosive Ordnance Disposal Regiment, Royal Logistics Corps, was then flown to a specialist military hospital in Birmingham, central England, but died yesterday.

This death brings the total amount of British soldiers killed in Afghanistan to 364 (almost 1 a day for a year!). Of these, 319 where killed from hostile action. This soldier is the 16th to die this year.

This war is definitely not worth it. It's doing more worse than good, and we're not really making much progress.

Why not open imigration for Afghan civilians, so if they want they can leave.....
